Bringing a diverse selection of hand-crafted cheeses to this year’s Christmas celebrations, Somerset-based cheesemaker, White Lake Cheese has announced the launch of its first ever festive cheese collection.

Curated by White Lake founder and head cheesemaker, Roger Longman, The Cheesemaker's Christmas Feast Box combines old favourites and newer releases with hand-picked accompaniments from some of the South West’s finest producers. With gifting, feasting and effortless indulgence in mind, this innovative and surprising selection of cheeses is here to take the Christmas cheeseboard to new heights.

Featuring five award-winning cheeses, all made at Bagborough Farm near the site of Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, The Cheesemaker's Christmas Feast Box includes Kingfisher Blue, a crumbly yet creamy cheese inspired by the French classic Bleu d’Auvergne but made using milk from Roger’s own herd of French Alpine goats, as well as The English Pecorino, a sweet and nutty hard sheep's milk cheese taking inspiration from its Italian cousin.

On the softer side of things, the box contains Shilling, a British take on the French goat’s cheese Crottin with notes of citrus and a refreshing acidity, and Glaston Tile, a fresh young goat’s cheese which is firm, bright and slightly salty. And for something altogether different to Christmas cheeseboards gone by, the newly launched Persian Gold is a lactic cheese-in-a-jar made with Jersey cow’s milk drenched in rapeseed oil infused with garlic, basil, and marjoram, with thyme and peppercorns added to finish.

To complete the collection, Roger has selected Gooseberry & Coriander Chutney from The Bay Tree in Devon, a fruity and delightfully spicy partner for many cheeses, and Popti’s Oat & Buttermilk Crackers, a slightly sweet and crisp wholemeal biscuit enriched with Cornish Buttermilk.

A festive feast through and through, sent directly from Roger’s dairy to doorsteps across the UK in time for Christmas, The Cheesemaker's Christmas Feast Box is perfect for a Christmas Eve party, Christmas Day cheese course or simple Boxing Day lunch.

The Cheesemaker's Christmas Feast Box is priced at £45 and contains Kingfisher Blue (235g), Shilling (80g), Glaston Tile (150g), Persian Gold (250g), The English Pecorino (275g), The Bay Tree Gooseberry & Coriander Chutney (200g) and Popti Oat & Buttermilk Crackers (120g). Accompaniments may be substituted for similar items depending on availability.

The Cheesemaker's Christmas Feast Box will be available to order online at whitelake.co.uk from Sunday 1 November for pre-Christmas delivery in December.
